About M.J. Sarmiento
M.J. Sarmiento was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her B.F.A. in Illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York. She explores her inner dialogue through drawing and painting live models, often overlapping the figure to create a narrative dance. M.J. currently lives in Vancouver, Canada where she works as a fine artist in traditional mediums and a visual effects artist in the film industry.
